ANdiamo
Welp, here I am. Back in Alamosa. Funny enough, in the same hotel, in the same very room, as when I first got to Alamosa after leaving Creede.
For a few days I rented a car and drove around the trail around Pagosa. Gave a few hikers some rides, and even more beer and twinkies.
Eventually I found myself back in NYC with Lauren in my arms, once again. Every time I see her makes things better. I value the time I get with her, and it was a much needed weekend. I also, saw my mom and brother, and Buddy Chris, so an overal reminder of ‘normal’ life for a moment.
As the trails been tough, the desire to stay home grew more and more. It was summer in the City, with everyone there. Or alone in the mountains with tons of snow. The mental battles ensued, but my ultimate stubbornness prevailed and I decided to push on further. So here I am.
It looks like I’ve got some good weather coming up, and the mountains do look a bit less snowy, from afar (which means little to nothing, but a good sign of decreasing snow, at least).
Hopefully I’ll get into Creede at and early time tomorrow, and be able to get on trail and back to getting some miles. I believe I officially cross the 1000 mile marker in a day or two. So let’s see what the 2nd thousand have in store.
