Tenting at the East Branch Lean-to after hiking over four mountain peaks, including White Cap Mountain, where I got my first view of Katahdin. It's big. And still looks far away. I met Bag Lady, Able and Willing today. They are fun and interesting people that seem like they would be fun to hike with, but they plan to hike less miles than we do.

I can't believe we are still seeing southbounders coming. We are almost to Katahdin, and it's September. Do these hikers love winter hiking and camping so much? Some of them aren't planning to go all the way to Georgia, but some of them are. I didn't want to be out here in the winter, but it looks like it will be into November when I finish. At least I will be down in Virginia by then, and hopefully it won't be too cold or icy. Brrr....
