Washington.

Day 144

We have entered the last state, and the last 500 miles of the trail. The feelings and excitement is unexplainable, but the startling reality of the miles to come sting a little. In the next few days, we will be pushing some difficult miles with lots of ups and downs, and we expect the weather to make the turn for the season. We have had a few bad days, but so far it hasn't been too rough, and we creep into Washington trying to get far enough in before getting caught by mother nature.

The past few days have been wonderful, with wonderful people. James and Bonnie drove us back to the trail today, and we camp on Washington ground this evening. We rest up one final night before the beginning of the end commences. We send off Oregon with a fond farewell. It has treated us well, but it is time to go.
