a whole new world
Day 80
A hefty 21 mile day ahead of us this morning. We thought it was going to be easy, but it turned out to be a little more difficult than anticipated -- still much easier than the past few stretches!
The first-third of the day was filled with snow. Unfortunately, it slowed us down. We made the first 7 miles in about three hours, and much to our happiness, there was an awesome food cache stored for hikers! We looked at there register, and saw it was restocked only half hour before we got there! Filled with baguettes, jelly, cookies, and fresh fruit, it was the highlight of our day. Thanks Meadow Mary!
After that, the trail was clear. The rest of the day was filled with long switchbacks, and mars like terrain. A very nice day, and tomorrow is the Christmas Eve to top them all! A few days with our girlfriends, friends, and we are heading to the Outdoor Retailer convention in Salt Lake City! We are very excited for the coming days, and rest. Our knees have all of a sudden begun to hurt. Probably has something to do with the crazy amount of snow drifts we climb and descend in a day...
