I am sleeping in Wawayanda Shelter tonight. We got here just after 7pm, right as it was getting dark. It wasn't quite a nero today, but we didn't start hiking until 12:30pm.

There were branches all over the trail today, from the wind and storm yesterday. The local paper said there had been flooding in Greenwood Lake. I believe we were lucky to be indoors overnight.

There were wonderful, crisp, fresh, local apples in the bear box here at the shelter, plus gallons of water at two different road crossings. Thank you, unknown trail angels! The weather was chilly, but sunny, and much cooler than before the storm. It feels like autumn!
